Pick Too Trio Background

Pick Too Trio was originally formed as Pick Too in 2016 when Phil Milligan and Doug Lambert decided to “hit the road” playing at numerous local restaurants, clubs, and other venues… Joey B's, Billy G's, Edgewild Winery, 9-Mile Garden, Wildwood Pub & Grill, 612 Kitchen & Cocktails, Sky Music Lounge, Eureka Block Party, Eureka Days,  Parkside Grill, Turtle Creek Pub & Grill, Candicci’s, Camila Tex-Mex, Eureka Farmer’s Market, The Miller Haus, Frisella’s Nursery’s Fall Festival,  Sara’s Bake Shop, St. Andrew’s at Francis Place, and private parties.

Phil hails from the Missouri Bootheel and Doug claims Springfield, Ohio as his homeland. Growing up in  these vastly different locales gives them interestingly different musical backgrounds. They both claim music of the ‘70s  as their comfort zone. But… due to the influence of older siblings and music-loving parents, they relate to music from the  ‘60s and earlier bygone eras, and… due to their ongoing love of music and Phil’s career as a high school music director/administrator,  they continue enjoying songs of all styles beyond the ‘70s. Their byline says it all… “Playing fun acoustic sounds of the  70s, a little earlier, a little later and whatever else we love to play, and you love to hear!”

In 2019, the duo expanded to include the percussive artistry of Reggie Wilson, and that's how Pick Too Trio was born! Reggie brought rich musical experiences from the ‘70s when he played, recorded and toured  with his brothers. Unfortunately, after a few years, Reggie decided to tone down his musical avocation to focus more on his career aspirations.  However, this opened the door for their friend Stan Minor to join the Trio in 2022. Stan, also a retired high school music director, keeps the trio in time with his jazzy drum tappings. This excitement and depth of sound shines through with each Pick Too Trio performance. They  strive to make sure each Pick Too Trio performance is thoroughly entertaining, and leaves everyone humming a favorite  tune, and looking forward to partying with them next time!
